Another unfortunate case of an animal that couldn't escape human damage

This week a Balkan pond turtle with a fishing hook embedded in its mouth was brought to us, helpless and in pain. Dr. Nir Hodorov operated on the turtle, the hook was removed and the turtle started receiving appropriate medication.

We're holding our fingers crossed for the darling turtle and are looking forward to releasing it to the wild soon, where hopefully it will not be harmed by human actions again.
