About ten days ago we admitted a young vixen that was found wandering around on her own
In the wild, when a mother notices that her cub is too weak or suffers from some defect, she abandons it.
Since the cub was too young to live without a mother, we asked the reporters to bring her to us for treatment.
When the vixen arrived at the clinic we noticed immediately that she was suffering from hydrocephalus, a condition where excess fluids accumulate in the brain and cause an increase in intracranial pressure, which in turn results in developmental and functional disorders. This is a condition that affects newborns, and unfortunately the chances of survival are not very high.
Due to the vixen's young age she can't undergo surgery, so at the moment we are relying on medicinal treatment only. We'll do everything we can to help the sweet cub and heal her. Let's wish her the best of luck!
